The amazing installation “REDDRESS” by South Korean artist Aamu Song takes the form of a colossal, red dress made from more than 550 meters of wool fabric. A performer wearing the dress climbs into a concealed staircase, immersing herself in the material. The garment can hold up to 238 people within its folds.
Jason Bard Yarmosky’s ‘Elder Kinder’
Brooklyn based artist Jason Bard Yarmosky (who we first featured here) will be exhibiting a solo exhibition ‘Elder Kinder’ at NYC’s Lyons Weir Gallery this upcoming May 3rd. Expanding on his series of portraits based on the artist’s 84 year old grandparents, the new works explore the physical process of aging while placing an emphasis on the youthfulness of spirit. Fashioned in children’s costumes, the couple engages in playful and tender moments, leaving subjective room for interpretation as the couple is shrouded in a bleak darkness and yet appear peaceful.
